AMBASSADOR TO SPEAK

Ambassador Wat Cluverius, of the Cleveland Council of World Affairs will speak on April 6 in the Cinema Hall of the Stocker Center, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  This noted expert on will give an overview of the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict and explain why negotiations are not working.

Faculty are invited to bring their classes to this event.

FOUNDER OF VANS WARPED TOUR TO SPEAK

Kevin Lyman will speak in the ninth installment of the Meeting Great Minds series offered by the University Partnership. The former "roadie" for the Bangles and Bad Religion will speak on April 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Spitzer Center.

LEGO OLYMPIAD

The Lego Olympiad a design and building contest held for youth, ages K to 12 will be held April 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.  Teams of mechanically minded contestants will test against each other in three areas. Trophies and awards will be given to the winners. Cost of the event is $4 per person.  No onsite registration will be available on the day of the contest.

WISHING "SHREW" WERE HERE

"Taming of the Shrew", one of Shakespeare's most loved works, will be playing at the Stocker Center April 12. The 90-minute version of the play will be at 10 a.m. The early performance is recommended by the play's presenters for younger play-goers, grade 6 to 12.  The full-length performance will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the shorter play are $6 per person. Admission for the full-length performance is $15 for adults and $10 for children, 12 and younger. For more information, contact Janet Herman Barlow at 7105.

 

SHOWCASE

PERFORMANCE

The creative work of the theatre students will be showcased in a series of short performances on April 12 and 13 in the Stocker Center in the studio theatre at 7:30 p.m. The Experimental Theatre Collaborative or ETC, will show their ongoing training in techniques and skills. Many of the international students will be performing as well.

WOMEN'S LINK EVENTS

 

CARPAL TUNNEL The Women's Link, a service of LCCC, is hosting J. Robert Anderson, MD, of Orthopedics University Hospitals on April 12 at noon in room CC 228. Dr. Anderson will explain what carpal tunnel syndrome is, its symptoms, how to avoid it, and what to do about it.  This talk is free and lunch will be provided.

 

CHILD CUSTODY Family Law Attorney Sam Bradley will be on hand April 13 from noon to 1 p.m. Bradley will explain rights and responsibilities in regards to child support and child custody issues. He will answer confidentially submitted questions.  The legal information is free and is open to the public. Those wishing to submit questions to the attorney, to reserve a seat, or for more information, can call the Women's Link at 440-366-4035 or stop by CC 238. Seating is limited.
