LCCC students were treated to free food and lots of information.
Jennifer Wilson, a medical assisting student, was curious about classes at LCCC. "I'm getting some good information about a class I wanted to take," Wilson said, "(The information is) very useful.."
Miranda Maynard is the Employment Coordinator for EMH Regional Healthcare System. She organizes career and employment programs for the EMH human resources.
"We work with LCCC and the partnerships." Maynard said.
"We did this to capture students that are seeking careers in healthcare, to help (guide) undecided (majors) and for job seekers."
Eddie Henson is the Outreach Services Specialist in the Connections Center at LCCC. Henson works with EMH to provide "corporate college."
The EMH pays for their employees to go to LCCC, said Henson.
Chris Smith is taking an EMTBasic class at LCCC. Smith stopped at the table to talk with Eddie Henson.
Smith said, "I want to get more information on what else I can do beyond what the (LCCC) catalog explains."
Faith David, biology major at LCCC, felt that the fair offered a good opportunity for students majoring in all fields of the health industry.
"Most of the career fairs that we have are usually for nursing,"
David said. "So a lot of us who are pre-med or in other aspects of the medical field feel left out. They assume that we lready have everything figured out. So I think it is nice to have a career day that could help guide us in the right direction."
