Many students at Lorain County Community College juggle a part time job and being a full time student. Mike Kovach, a second year student at LCCC, is an exception.
Kovach, 29, tries to juggle a full-time job as a manager at Marc's in Elyria and a full-time student at LCCC as he tries to obtain an Associate's degree in business administration.
Kovach said, "The balance of school and work leads to lack of sleep, headaches, and high blood pressure."
Kovack joked, "It's not work, it's just the girlfriend."
Kovach, who lives in Lagrange, is constantly driving to and from Elyria for school and work. He needs a car that gets him from point A to point B. That's why he drives a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. It saves on gas and leaves money for more important things in life.
He works at Marc's in the Midway Mall area as the customer service manager. He also calls himself the human resources officer because he has to deal with the employees every day. But one thing he has found is much different than when he used to be a part-time employee
"I can't procrastinate as much," he said. "My duties include preparing schedules for the employees, hiring and firing employees, and is sometimes responsible for opening and closing the store."
In his spare time away from work, whenever he finds it, he likes to hang out with his girlfriends and go to hookah* bars around town, and he enjoys eating chicken parmesan..
Kovach has found time to juggle the tasks of a full-time job, a full-time student and a girlfriend.
Having this experience now may help prepare him for whatever the future has in store.
*(Editor's note:
A hookah is a type of water pipe. A flexible tube is used to suck smoke from the water in jar and cooling it.).

I honestly do not think that this is the "exception" anymore. There are, at least in my experience, more students that are juggling "something" beyond a college education than not. (Continued…)
