Summer and Fall 2007 tuition and fees per credit hour are to be increased to $96 for Lorain County residents, $115.55 for out-of-county residents, and $233.35 for out-of-state residents pending board approval, according to an advisory hand-out from the Connections Center. This reflects a general tuition increase of 4 percent.

According to the advisory, students are offered a "blanket rate" for 13 to 18 credits to offer more flexibility in course load options.

The proposed rates include the General Fee of $3 per credit and the Technology Fee of $ 1.75 per credit.

The tuition for nursing and a few other majors are slightly higher depending on their programs.

Tuition rates are determined by the students home address. According to the LCCC Catalog, students must reside within the Lorain County borders for at least a year to be considered a resident.

Registration for Summer 2007 and Fall 2007/2008 started on March 12 for Nurses and opened on March 19 for general students.

Students are allowed to register according to how many credit hours they have accumulated.

There are three major terms at LCCC, Fall and Spring Semester and a Summer term. Sub-terms of five, eight, and ten weeks are offered to allow for more flexibility.

Classes at LCCC are offered in a variety of formats to fit students' needs. There's the traditional land based class where students go to a physical classroom.

There are also distance courses which may done over the internet or through other media resources. Some courses use a blended format of both a land-based and an online component.

Within the first few weeks of a class, depending on the term's length, classes maybe adjusted to a different section within the same division. with the same amount of credit hours. For example, a communications class for a communications class, according to Connection's Center Staff.

The Connections Center has a form for schedule adjustments.

If students find out that classes just are not working out for them for some reason, after the adjustment period, they may choose to withdraw from the course. They must do this by the withdrawal date for that semester in order to receive a "w" for a grade.

The withdrawal form says students receiving financial aid may want to consult with financial services prior to dropping courses to avoid problems.

Through the web page, www.lorainccc.edu, students have access to the academic calendar to help them plan their school year.
