The winning entry, created by LCCC Fab Lab assistant Mark Rozmurynowycz, beat out designs from as far away as Norway and Egypt. "Anyone with a fab lab could enter the contest," said Rozmurynowycz.
Rozmurynowycz actually submitted two entries into MIT's contest. The winning entry, titled Cubist Egg, didn't even look like an egg. Rozmurynowycz's other entry featured eggshell pieces on top of a puzzle with the word dada emerging from the egg.
The prize was a stuffed bunny filled with chocolate. "It's Godiva Chocolate, highly coveted," Rozmurynowycz explained.
Rozmurynowycz said that the next design contest is to design something from a 4-foot-by-8-foot piece of wood. According to Rozmurynowycz, "Anyone can enter."
The competition will take place May 12. According to the web site www.fabfolk.com, "selected entries will be displayed at a special exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Ill."
