The Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery will present a series of art works in a range of media by artists from Lorain County Community College as well as county residents, and high school and middle school students.
One of the starting exhibitions to start the fall semester is "Dermasol," featuring the tattoo art by Presto, also known as Dan Daley, and graffiti art by Bob Peck. The exhibition opens Wednesday, Sept. 12 and continues until Sunday, Oct. 7.
Celebrating the history of tattoo and graffiti art, the exhibition will display art works by regional artists reflecting on the history with which this art form began. From the cavemen and the Egyptians, to today, tattoo and graffiti art has twisted with the times.
The artists invite LCCC students and the public to display their photos and sketches to share with other visitors. It ends with a celebration of the work in the gallery.
The artists will be outside the Stocker Arts Amphitheatre on Thursday, Sept. 12. They will be producing a collaborative painting. They will present a gallery talk the same day at 4 p.m., followed by a reception from 4:30-7 p.m.
The Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery is open during exhibitions Mondays through Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as well as during many evening and weekend events.Arrangements can be made to visit the Stocker Art Gallery during off hours by calling the Stocker Arts Center's main office at (440) 366-4140 or (800) 995-5222 ext. 4140.
