Dear Cleveland,
Take a second to think about how far we've come.
This could very well be our finest year.
For the first time in my life, I got to watch Cleveland Cavaliers basketball in June. The summertime has been filled with the victories of a first place baseball team. A team, that many sportswriters say could win the World Series.
Only to add to the joy of the moment, our beloved Cleveland Browns got a division win, and put up a staggering 50 plus points against the Bengals.
The times in Cleveland are a changing. No more are the Cavs playing to high-school sized crowds.Their arena is packed and their games are nationally televised. Their star player is the face of the NBA and a perennial MVP candidate.
The tides in Lake Erie are a turning.
Our baseball team, which hasn't made the playoffs since 2001, is 3 games away from clinching the central division. The same team that self-destructed late last year, has a solid hold on first place, with a seven game lead.
All those open green seats at the Jake that were so visible throughout the beginning of summer, have now been filled with screaming fans.
The time has come Cleveland. This is our year.
As the Cavaliers hang their Eastern Conference Championship penant from the rafters of "The Q", our Cleveland Indians are dreaming of champagne showers.
The only thing we have left to do is let the Browns know they might have a game to play in February.
This is our year Cleveland. Sit back and enjoy.
