Several intramural sports events are taking place at Lorain County community college during the fall semester.
Most of these events begin in September and will end in late November.
For die hard basketball fans, a "Foul Shot Contest" will be held at 2:35 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 1, and a "3on 3 Basketball Tournament" will be held at 3:00-3:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 27-29. Both events are in the gymnasium.
Work out fans can enter the "Bench Press Contest" which will be at noon and 6 p.m. in the free weight area of the Fitness Center on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
A "Coed Flag Football Tournament" will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the outdoor field north of the P.E. building.
Come hit the lanes with LCCC's "Coed Bowling Tournament" which will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov.14 at Brunswick Lanes in North Ridgeville.
For anyone who has a liking for greased wood and rental shoes, this is your place.
Two fairly new events that did not get the attention that they deserved last year have been brought back.
The "Table Tennis Event" will be held on Friday, Nov.9 at noon in the College Center Mall, and the cult-favorite "World Series of Rock, Paper, and Scissors will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at noon in the College Center Mall.
The newest event this year is the "Coed Volleyball Tournament" that will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 13 and 15 at 3:00- 3:45 p.m. in the gymnasium.
People are already putting teams together for the three-on-three basketball tournament, according to event coordinator Jim Powers.
"Some people really take it seriously," Powers said.
Powers added if anyone is interested, wants to try anything new, or has any suggestions, to contact him at 440-366-7652.
Events are open to all students, faculty, alumni, and staff.
