Lorain County Community College's Security Department published the annual report about crimes reported on campus on the LCCC by the federally mandated deadline of October 1. This report can be found on the LCCC Security Web site http://www.lorainccc.edu/Campus+Security/Crime+Statistics.htm.

Interim Director of Campus Security Keith Brown mentioned that the most common crime reported on campus was theft. "This comes from students leaving items unattended," said Brown. "With our video surveillance system, we have been able to solve some of these thefts".

Shortly after informing the Collegian about the crime report, Brown expressed reluctance about publishing the report in the Collegian. "I wanted to delay the story so that I could work on how best to communicate the statistical information which has been posted on the college's home page under the quick links section entitled 'campus crime statistics.'" said Brown in an email. Brown added that ". . . we've (Campus Security) also posted them across campus on bulletin boards with the assistance of Student Life."
