New restrooms should reflect modern lifestyles

So here's a thought. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to walk into a restroom at Lorain County Community College and have a place to set your books and hang your coat? You know, and not have to worry about putting everything on the floor, or not having enough room in the stalls?
I think that would be wonderful. I also think that with the new library being built and the Student Life center being renovated, this is the perfect time for that.
New restrooms will be built, and let's face it, the old layout is just not working.
The restrooms now don't really make sense. There is barely any room in the stalls. In some, the toilet is all the way to one side by the wall. There is nowhere to set your books. And those hooks, will they really hold your purse and coat and anything else you may have?
Aside from that, restrooms have germs, and usually water on the floor, so why would anybody want to set their stuff down in that?
Oh, and what is the deal with the doors opening inwards? You have to shimmy your way out.
It just seems to be that the new restrooms could be built differently. Especially to accommodate women who have their children.
I've never been in a men's restroom, so this is a little biased.
I will assume though, that men have their children with them at the school too. So I think making the new restrooms have more space could benefit parents that bring their kids to school. They could sit comfortably while their kids are comfortable too.
And from what I've heard from guy friends, there should be splash guards between the urinals. I'm just going to say, as a woman, I'm glad I get my own stall.
However, either way, the restrooms should be laid out differently for the new library and Student Life area.
They should be comfortable and spacious enough for everything students and teachers trek along throughout the day. After all, shouldn't restrooms be that way anyways?
I don't think anybody would be opposed to restrooms being set up better, right? Well, again, it's just a thought. I don't think it's too much to ask.
I guess we will see when the new building and renovations are finished. Let's have hope that the people in charge of the new sections of LCCC have the same idea.
