Los Unidos is a Lorain County Community College Student Life Oragnization offered to all students wanting to learn about the fervent Latin culture and history. Latinos are often referred to as "those who speak the Romance language" or "a verbal communication derived from Latin and/or ancestry from a Latin country."
They come from scenic sultry oasises throughout southern Europe and Latin America. Their foods and fruits are exotic, they listen and perform to fiery inspiring music, and are their lyrics usually derived from their ardent history and culture.
Most importantly, Latinos are about family. This is the glue that allows their individual instincts and traits to emerge and create an enormous force to work hard to succeed in life.
Los Unidos is a humble, friendly, fun student organization which was created with this same drive to give students an opportunity to learn leadership skills and to influence in their future journeys through a divers world.
In the near future, Los Unidos will be developing activities such as a collaboration with Duck Radio to create an exciting Latin program on the internet, and community events such as leadership conferences held throughout the nation
Moreover, Los Unidos will create, develop, and organize leadership events to be held here at LCCC.
Los Unidos will also develop a Latino historical column with the Collegian which will give students an exciting opportunity to learn and write about the Latino history.
Los Unidos would like to thank Student Life, Student Senate, Generosa Lopez-Molina, Dean and Administrative Liaison, and Raul Ramos, Faculty Liaision for their support and opportunity ato rebuild this cultural student organization. For more information about Los Unidos, please email Student Senate at stsenate@lorainccc.edu.
