Earth Day, a day where the whole world is supposed to pitch in and do their part to save the environment.

In fact that is exactly what they do, for that day. For one day everyone acts like they give hoot about the environment and are overly concerned with the need to be "green," but with that kind of attitude it makes saving the environment seem like a trend, and quite frankly that is ridiculous.

To be honest being "green" is not a fashion, it is a commitment! So what if for one day the world decides to pull out the recycle bins that have been gathering dust in closets and garages everywhere. It really does not make a difference when the very next day those plastic bottles and aluminum can end up right back in the trash.

This very thing happened right here on campus, everywhere I turned I was being offered a nice treat for being an earth conscious being, oh how sweet, right?

The very next day, after finishing a refreshing bottled beverage, when I went to find a recycling bin they were nowhere to be found, how could this be? Is it that hard to find someone who would be willing to put in a little extra effort and empty the recycling bin along with the trash can?

I am sure plenty of students who would not mind emptying a can say twice a week, just as long as we had somewhere to put it so it could be handed over to the proper authorities.

Seriously, when you are over in the library and you have a bottle you need to get rid of you are not going to walk all the way to the Stocker Center to find one of the few recycling bins on campus.

Well, maybe on Earth Day.
